Recipients of Wisconsin Experience Grant Funds:
Definitions
Co-Sponsors are university departments, other registered student organizations and other organizations who share a vested interest in the purpose & goals of the program/event; usually a collaborative relationship has been developed and the co-sponsor is involved in the planning of the program/event. This is not necessarily monetary support.
Examples of Co-Sponsorship include (but are not limited to) being involved in one or more of the following:
1. Participating in planning meetings for an event
2. Helping advertise an event
3. Helping with set up or logistics on the day of an event
Co-Funders are funding bodies which provide funding for a program/event and often require acknowledgement of said funding, but are not necessarily co-sponsors. Co-funders, such as ASM, MCC and the Wisconsin Experience Grant, are usually only responsible financially for the portion of the program/event they have agreed to fund.
Reminder
It is important to have a clear understanding with Co-Sponsors and Co-Funders of the nature and terms of the relationship, such as the role and function in assisting with planning, helping with promotion or publicity of the program/event, advisory only, monetary only, etc. It is common courtesy, and often required, to acknowledge your Co-Sponsors and Co-Funders on publicity and during the event with a recognition or thank-you. However, also remember that your name as a registered student organization, as the primary sponsor of the event, must be noted clearly and prominently.
