Presentation on research by Dr. Brad Brown and Maame Adomako: In moving into a residential college environment, late adolescents face a number of challenges to healthy academic and social adjustment. Research often focuses on academic success, under-appreciating the role of social and contextual factors in students’ adjustment and failing to recognize unique challenges of individuals from different racial-ethnic backgrounds.
