Engage Speaker Series: Steve Starkey with OutReach Madison

The Engage Leadership: Speaker Series is a comprehensive lecture and discussion series that brings leaders from the Madison area and beyond to speak about their experience with leadership and how to help others develop theirs. This fall, the Willis L. Jones Leadership Center is excited to host speaker Steve Starkey from OutReach Madison in an engaging presentation on advocacy and leadership in times of adversity.
Steve is OutReach’s longest serving Executive Director in the center’s history. For 11 years, Steve has served as the ED and has a rich history in fighting for equality and human rights going back to the 1970s, as a volunteer, donor, board or committee member, or staff member with various organizations. He has served two terms on of the board of New Harvest Foundation from 1996-2002, was the Founding Vice President of the Social Justice Center from 2001-2003, the Treasurer of the Board of Citizen Action of WI Education Fund from 2003-2007, and served on the board of Community Shares of Wisconsin.
The mission of OutReach: A commitment to equity and quality of life for all LGBTQ+ people through community building, health and human services, and economic, social, and racial justice advocacy.
