Personal biography

My name is Ace and I am a trans genderqueer person of color. My pronouns are both gender neutral and masculine. I received a Full Tuition academic and leadership based scholarship from the POSSE foundation in 2008 in my hometown of Chicago, IL. As a first generation college student, and the oldest in my family, I had to work hard to really find my way and my own voice. After graduating from UW in 2014 ( I did a victory lap and took a 5th year), I served as the Undergraduate Chapter Advisor of my sorority, Sigma Lambda Gamma national Sorority Inc. In fall 2016, I started my current graduate program in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, as well as began the role as the Multicultural Greek Council Advisor. I love my education program, I love my position, and can not wait to make a change in the world!

What do you think every student should know about the UW-Madison campus?

This campus has a plethora of opportunities, take advantage of it. These four or five years will go by in a flash. When you graduate, if you were to give a speech, what would you want to say about your college experience? Think of that and do it. You can do that, and things you never thought, just take initiative!
